Clancy first tried cross-country when he was 11 years old, after his school needed an extra person for their relay team at Victorian Interschools. A talented runner, his school believed it would be the perfect fit, and they were right.
Clancy quickly fell in love with the sport and particularly enjoys the feeling of gliding at speed along the snow and the challenge of combining fitness, technique and speed. In 2023 Clancy won gold at the Victorian Junior XC Championship in the U18 7.5km race and most recently was invited to join the Australian Junior Team, an achievement he considers a career highlight.
