Sydneysiders to meet London bound athletes on Wednesday #100days

Wednesday 18 April marks 100 days until the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Australian Olympic Committee will be holding several events around the country to mark the occasion (#100days).

As well as the official media conference at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre and the Kookaburras with school kids in Perth, 11 Olympic hopefuls will be at two Fitness First gyms in the Sydney CBD.

Beijing Olympic medallists Matthew Mitcham, Ken Wallace and Melissa Wu will be just some of the athletes to meet and greet fans and talk about their London preparations.

  • Diving - Matt Mitcham (2008 Oly gold medallist) and Melissa Wu (2008 silver medallist)

1245 – 1400

  • Triathlon – Brendan Sexton (World Cup winner, London bound)
    Taekwondo – Safwan Khalil (Selected athlete, grand prix medallist)

Athletes – MARKET St Fitness First:     

1200 – 1330

  • Kayak: Ken Wallace (dual Olympic medallist)   

1200 – 1400

  • Water Polo:  Richie Campbell (2008 Olympian headed for London), Nicola Zagame (2010 World Cup silver medallist, London will be 1st Olympics), Holly Lincoln-Smith (2010 World Cup silver medallist, London will be 1st Olympics), John Cotterill (fresh from starring in Europe, London will be 1st Olympics).
