Six months on - Behind the scenes at Buenos Aires

6 April 2019

BUENOS AIRES 2018: Today marks six months since the incredible Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) kicked off. To celebrate, we go behind the scenes and let your Aussie Youth Olympians show you what it was really all about.

In October 2018, 88 young Aussie athletes from 26 sports travelled to Buenos Aires to represent Australia at the third edtiton of the YOG. These young guns made their nation proud, bringing home a fantastic haul of 16 individual and five team medals for Australia.

But the YOG is about more than just medals and personal bests. These young athletes immersed themselves in the entire Olympic experience, connecting and building friendships with athletes from around the globe, experiencing the culture, sights and sounds of Argentina, along with giving back to the country who so generously hosted them.

Six months on, some of Australia's most elite sporting youth carry not only the honour of having represented their country on the Olympic stage, but memories that will last a lifetime.
