Tobias's Story

Toby Lister started coxing in high school and first made the Australian team in 2004. After fellow Sydney-sider Marty Rabjohns retired following the Beijing Olympics, Lister took over the men's heavyweight coxed eight. Since taking the reins, the eight has finished seventh at the 2009 World Championships, won bronze in 2010 and fourth in 2011.

Lister went on to cox the men’s eight at the London 2012 Games. The Australian’s claimed second in their heat before going on to earn themselves a spot in the 2012 Olympic final with a fourth place finish in the repechage. The crew went on to finish sixth in a strong field, 3.12 seconds behind gold medallists Germany.
