Rebecca's Story

The older of the two Rippon sisters, Rebecca Rippon was part of the bronze medal winning Australian water polo team at Beijing 2008. Her younger sister step-sister Kate Gynther were also on the team. The bronze medal final against Hungary was decided in a penalty shoot-out, the final score being 12-11. Rippon, along with Melissa and Kate, had made her Olympic debut in Athens, where the team placed fourth.
