1979 -
Rebecca Gilmore teamed with Loudy Tourky to win the bronze medal in the synchronised platform at Sydney 2000 when synchronised diving made its Olympic debut. The bronze medal was the first in diving by Australian women and the first by Australians since Richmond Eve’s gold medal in the plain high diving at Paris 1924. At Sydney, Gilmore also competed in the individual diving events on the springboard and platform.
