Tasmanian Luke Jackson was the captain of the Australian boxing team at the London 2012 Olympic Games, his debut Olympics. Fighting in the lightweight division, Jackson went down 20-7 to Qiang Liu of China. Jackson was a late starter to the sport of boxing beginning at the age of 19 in 2004. In his first year of competing, he came third at the 2004 Australian Championships in the U/57kg division. Jackson retired after the London Olympics.
