Liz Gardner

Liz Gardner is a two-time Olympian, having competed in Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010 in freestyle skiing, aerials. Gardner made her World Cup debut in Mt Buller in September 2001, and collected her first podium placing a year later at the same event. The 2003/04 season brought her two bronze medals, as well as three other fourth placings, on her way to eighth place on the World Cup rankings. In 2005, Gardner placed sixth at the World Ski Championships in Ruka, Finland. The former gymnast’s 2009/10 season got off to a difficult start when she sustained a medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear in training for the opening event of the year in Changchun, China. The Torino Olympian subsequently competed in three events, securing her place at Vancouver 2010 in the process. In an impressive prelude to the Vancouver Games, Liz finished fourth at the World Cup in Mont Gabriel - her best result in three years and the first time she performed a triple twisting somersault since the 2006 Torino Olympic Games. Gardner’s best Olympic performance was in Vancouver, finishing 12th.
