Judy's Story

Judy Playfair joined with Lynne Watson, Lyn McClements and Janet Steinbeck to claim the silver medal behind the United States in the women’s 4 x 100 metres medley relay at Mexico City 1968. Playfair put in a sparkling breaststroke leg on the first day of the swimming competition to, rather unexpectedly, push the crack American outfit all the way to the finish. Lyn Bell had swum the freestyle leg in the heat earlier in the day. Playfair also competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres breaststroke events.
