1946 -
Denis Pigott joined Merv Bennett, Bill Roycroft and Wayne Roycroft to win a bronze medal in equestrian’s team three-day event in 1976. Pigott, riding Hillstead, also placed 20th in the individual three-day event. The team event has become one of Australia’s most popular Olympic events, with a number of medals being won since 1960. The equestrian medal was one of only five medals won by Australia in Montreal.
