Damon's Story
Damon Kelly was a rugby union player for his Queensland school and began weightlifting as part of rugby training in year 10. Kelly broke multiple junior Queensland and National records before making his Olympic debut in Beijing in 2008 where he placed ninth in the +105kg division. Kelly is also a dual Commonwealth medallist - winning a silver medal in 2006 and a gold medal in 2010. He made his second Olympic Games appearance as Australia’s only male weightlifter in London 2012.
