Christopher's Story

Born in 1968, Christopher Anderson represented Australia in athletics at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games in the men’s high jump. Anderson was 28 when he reached the Olympic stage, a reward for the consistency required in one of track and field’s most exacting technical events.

At Atlanta, Anderson cleared 2.15 metres in qualification and was placed 27th overall. Although his Olympic career was limited to one Games, selection for Australia in the high jump marked him as one of the nation’s leading athletes in the event during that period. His appearance in Atlanta secures his place in Australia’s Olympic athletics history.
