Cameron's Story

Cameron Morton made his debut as an Olympic competitor in Torino, but it was not his first Olympic Games. Morton was the coach of Australia's most successful biathlete, Kerryn Rim (nee Pethybridge) at her second Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998.

The Victorian biathlete made his World Cup debut in Oberhof, Germany, in 1993, represented Australia at the World Biathlon Championships in Rupholding in 1996, then missed several years on the circuit in the mid to late 90s before returning to World Cup competition in 2001/02.

His best World Cup result was 60th in the individual event in Hochfilzen, Austria in 2005. At the Torino Games, Morton finished 83rd in the 20km individual and 82nd in the 10km sprint events.
