Ashlee Ankudinoff

After just missing out on selection for London 2012, Ashlee Ankudinoff’s determination to realise her Olympic dream paid off when she was selected to compete at the Rio 2016 Games.

The selection was reward for a long run of success she had with the national women’s team pursuit team. Having won two junior World Championships, Ankudinoff featured in the 2013 and 2014 senior World Championship teams that both finished on the podium. However it was in 2015 where, alongside Melissa Hoskins, Annette Edmondson and Amy Cure, she made history when they won World Championship gold and broke the world record.

After finishing fifth at the 2016 World Championships following a disrupted preparation, a crash in training at the Rio Games cruelled the Aussies chances of pushing for a podium finish. Ankudinoff lined up in Australia’s race off for fifth and sixth which the Aussies won.
